“The good life is a process, not a state of being. It is a direction, not a destination.”

Carl Rogers

Welcome! My name is Katie (she/her), and I am a psychotherapist, wife, mother, and enjoy spending my time outside. I specialize in anxiety, adjustments/life transitions, and trauma. I work with individuals from ages 18 and up.

My educational background consists of earning my bachelor’s in Human Development and Family Science at The Ohio State University and my master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. From there, I moved to California in The Bay Area to continue my training as a pre-licensed therapist. I’ve been practicing for over seven years in a variety of settings from working with marginalized groups, a school counselor, and in the private practice sector.

I believe we are all good inside, and sometimes our current or past experiences can make us feel shame, disappointment, shock, or overwhelm. I take pride to understand your story by exploring your past, current struggles, culture, values, and beliefs. I am currently licensed in CA, OH, and NC.

Approach

My approach is to first establish safety through empathy and an eagerness to understand your story. Together, we will establish goals to help guide the therapeutic process. I use evidence-based practices to help achieve your goals by strengthening our mind-and-body connection, and explore our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. My areas of passion are breaking patterns of anxiety, establishing safety from trauma responses, and gaining resiliency through any major change.
